yesterday my sweet little boy turned four.
early early, in a foggy state of awakeness.
star wars theme song blaring. our costumes on.
we surprised trent and headed for a day at Hollywood Studios.
he was a a wee bit excited.
just barely tall enough to ride.
and just old enough to sign up.
he waited with other padawans. clearly the most excited.
his robe on and ready.
he looked like such a big kid.
he took his Jedi oath.
and did some official lightsaber techniques.
with a little help.
he was a natural.
and then there was a disturbance in the galaxy.
Darth Vader came.
and this time it clearly wasn't Daddy dressed up.
he asked permission, and then ran off the stage.
and I couldn't have been more proud.
we got as far away as we could.
and rewarded his smart thinking with an icee.
and a special birthday lunch. just us three.
and then he asked to be carried out and to head home.
as it turns out, our big boy, isn't as big as we thought.
and we wouldn't have it any other way.
