a rainy playdate.

today was the perfect day for a rainy day playdate.

we filled water bottles with sparkles. treasures. and rice.
(voss makes the perfect plastic bottle, the labels come right off.)

we added names and superglue under the cap.
perfect for car rides. I spy. & learning colors and alphabet.

little girl room.

not quite baby, and most certainly not big girl.

miss lila was in need of a few boosters to her nursery.

but we treaded lightly for those who might get emotional (mom).

a cozy corner for rocking and reading.

a stack of some favorite books is a mainstay.

a cradle that serves as a catchall for her purse. blankies. and babies.

the perfect combination of baby and little girl.
much easier than when I had to take down her mobile,
I must've sat in the attic 20 minutes tearing over that.

not pictured: her crib in the other corner.

tales from the city pool.

today we finished swimming lessons.

there was a lot of splashing.

a lot of cheering on.

and quite a bit of flirting.
that's trent seated next to his fave teacher on the right.

just not a whole lot of swimming.

but in true burket style, we did have fun.

now the little miss is ready for her turn.

a tale of two blankies.

meet lila. she has two blankies

they were given to her at birth.

and have been with her ever since.

they've gone on every burket adventure.

from the backyard.

to the aquarium.

and to every nap. and bed.

as long as those two blankies are there.

lila is happy girl.

hello summer.

today is our first day of summer.
and we're quite happy.

we made frozen lemolade.

and yes, my children posed themselves like this.

we played at the playground.
we played in the house.

we did a bit of chores.
and I cleaned those kids better than they've ever been cleaned.

there was a lot of star wars talk.
and a lot of jibber jabber.

and then it was time for nap.

I read and sang, and watched them both fall asleep.

and then did what every mother does,
take like 100 gazillion pictures of her sleeping babes.

in particular one little lady who tried out her big girl bed for the first time!

oh, I love today.
