the crib left. and something was needed to fill the void.

new memories. old memories. and declarations of an unfailing love. 

purchased and painted.

framed and mounted.

hung so that as she wakes. plays. and falls asleep.

she will be continually reminded of just how much we love her.

four year old trent.

meet four year old trent.

he says things like ridiculous. freaked out. and absolutely.

he remembers everything. and loves being read to.

he does not like jumping in the pool. or bedtime.

he loves bacon. chocolate. rice. applesauce. hummus and smoothies.

just not all together.

when he spends the night with his gigi. 

he draws a heart on both of our hands.

he has big plans on being a jet pilot.

and promises to fly safely.

he puts away his own laundry and clears the table after eating.

he quietly fills spiral notebooks with drawings in pen.

and I'm certain is the coolest four year old on the planet.

the mud race.

tom and I did a mud race.

yes, you read that right. tom. and I. did a mud race. 

this mud race. 

we did all the necessary prep. we stretched out.

and tom got his face painted like a tiger.

will got his painted like a clown.

we didn't tape our shoes.

or wear gloves. or kilts.

but we did swim in mud. run through the woods. and completely wear ourselves out.

 having a really awesome time. 

I only did it so my hubs would think I was cool. pretty sure it worked.
