hello summer.

today is our first day of summer. 

and we're quite happy.

we made frozen lemolade.

and yes, my children posed themselves like this.

we played at the playground.

we played in the house.

we did a bit of chores.

and I cleaned those kids better than they've ever been cleaned.

there was a lot of star wars talk.

and a lot of jibber jabber.

and then it was time for nap.

I read and sang, and watched them both fall asleep.

and then did what every mother does, 

take like 100 gazillion pictures of her sleeping babes.

in particular one little lady who tried out her big girl bed for the first time!

oh, I love today.

the last day of school.

and I only brought one home with me.

we all celebrated at the park.

and had dinner. and vegan carrot cake.

and then we talked about our Summer plans.

more playing. more swinging. more cake.

here's to a swingin good time.

note: yes, I reluctantly returned the sweet student at the end of the night.

it doesn't get much better than disney at night.

after a day of fun.

we rest and wash.

and don our mickey ears.

for an evening of fun.

and laughter.

there's an annual sibling shot.

and then it's back to the magic.

and they lived happily ever after...

they waited for the monorail.

and for first sight of the castle.

then it was race cars with his best bud.

I love that face.

then time for lila's first teacup ride.

and nana's first ride too.

a most wonderful time.

with the most wonderful people.

he counted down the days.

until we met some friends for breakfast.

there were mickey waffles.

and minnie kisses.

there were little ones with big wonder.

there were grandparents snapping shots.

and a great grandmother to sweeten the deal.

some happy kids, 

and even happier parents.

because when you eat at chef mickeys.

you don't have to go on a mouse hunt at 

the magic kingdom.
